The opening of Kamikochi to the general public is now just aroud the corner. After a long and quite snowy winter, staff of the park and local businesses are now busy preparing for the crowds who’ll be eagerly pouring out of the Kama Tunnel to cleberate the arrival of the new season just weeks from now. It’s a big job for all involved, but with blue skies and picturesque mountains as the backdrop, you couldn’t ask for a nicer place to be spending the first days of spring.
Due to a lack of pictures and other media to illustrate this important time of year, this week’s blog will be shorter than usual. One thing we can share is the opening dates for some of Kamikochi’s most popular lodgings:
IMPORTANT DATES: Transportation to Kamikochi commences on April 17th and the official “Kaizansai” opening ceremony will be held on the 27th. (
